Strong Finishing Kick Seals a Faster Half Anna Collawn crossed in 1:50:16, trimming 53 seconds off her 2023 Boulderthon half marathon time of 1:51:09 despite racing a much larger field. Her early pace held steady in the 8:20s through six miles, dipped briefly to 9:27 at mile seven, then settled back into the 8:30s through mile eleven. She closed with her strongest running of the race, covering miles twelve and thirteen in 7:37 and 7:51, a two-mile stretch that pulled her cumulative pace back down to 8:25 min/mile by the finish. That closing surge came as the course made its way into downtown Boulder, finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Given the altitude, negative-splitting the final two miles stands out as the clear highlight of her race.
