Strong Start Carries Through Steady Finish on Pearl Street Mariana Fernandez completed the half marathon in 2:20:00, an average pace of 10:41 per mile. Her race showed a clear pattern: the first six miles clicked by at a brisk, consistent pace between 9:31 and 9:57, before the back half settled into the 11:0012:25 range as elapsed pace gradually eased from 9:46 to 10:41 per mile by the finish. That opening six-mile stretch stands out as the strongest of the day, averaging under 9:45 per mile and building an early cushion that carried her through the second half. The course took her out past Boulder Reservoir before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder a fitting close to a race run at over 5,000 feet of elevation. With that opening pace as a foundation, there's room to build toward an even split next time out.
