Steady Pacing Delivers a Personal Best Stephen Bouey crossed in 1:27:30, finishing 103rd overall and 91st among men placing him in the top 10% of the field. He also took 2nd in the M45-49 division. This marks his fastest Boulderthon half marathon yet, edging out last year's 1:27:34 and improving steadily from 1:34:44 in 2023 and 1:30:34 in 2024. His pacing stayed remarkably even across the distance, opening with a brisk 6:25 first mile and holding between 6:22 and 6:58 through the middle miles before closing strong. Miles one through five were his best stretch, averaging 6:29 per mile, showing an ability to sustain quick pace early at altitude Boulder sits above 5,000 feet. A slight dip through miles 8-11 gave way to a sharp rebound, with mile 12 clocking a race-best 6:30 en route to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
