Strong Middle Miles Power a Steady Half Ellie Garrison finished the half marathon in 2:15:01, an average pace of 10:18 per mile. After opening at 10:27, she found her rhythm through miles 3 to 6, clicking off splits of 9:20, 9:48, 9:52, and 9:44 the fastest stretch of her race. The pace eased in the back half, dipping to 11:53 for mile 11 before settling back into 10:15 and 10:25 to the finish. That surge through the middle miles came at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet along the entire course. She passed the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5 at a 10:44 pace before closing out the final two miles at a steadier clip, bringing her race home on the Pearl Street Mall.
