Strong Late Surge Powers a Steady 10K Finish Sierra Evevard covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:02:59, an average pace of 10:09 per mile. Her early miles settled into the 10:1011:07 range, but she reversed course from mile 4 onward, dropping to 10:21, then 9:09 her fastest mile of the race before closing with a 9:36. That finishing kick pulled her final elapsed pace back in line with her opening tempo, a clear sign of a race that got stronger as it went rather than fading. Running through downtown Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet, Evevard's ability to pick up her pace in the back half stands out against the thinner air most runners contend with there. Her final two miles were her quickest of the day, a strong close worth building on for the next 10K.
