Strong Start Fuels Runner-Up Age-Group Finish Maxwell Friedmann finished this half marathon in 1:16:12, placing 21st overall and 21st among men in a field of 7,223, and taking second in the M35-39 division. That's faster than his 2023 Boulderthon half (1:19:57) but a bit behind his 2025 result (1:14:55). His race opened fast, with the first three miles clicking off in 5:22, 5:38 and 5:39 his quickest mile-plus stretch of the day. Cumulative pace held near 5:30-5:40/mile through mile 5, then eased through the middle miles, with mile 10 at 6:12 as the effort settled. He closed steady, finishing his final mile in 5:55. That mid-race stretch fell near the lululemon Power-Up Zone at roughly mile 9.5, a section worth revisiting on tempo in future training all at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet.
