Fast Start Fuels a Steady Half-Marathon Push Clark Jordan finished the Half Marathon in 1:40:41, an average pace of 7:41 per mile. He opened with his fastest mile of the race at 6:42, built a cumulative pace near 6:50 through the first five miles, then eased into the 7:45-8:47 range as the back half wore on, closing the final mile in 7:55. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Jordan passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5 in the middle of his steadiest late-race stretch, holding 8:08-8:11 pace across miles 9 and 10 before a brief dip at mile 11. That opening mile remains the standout of his day, and matching more of the race to that early rhythm is worth exploring next time out.
