Steady Start Fuels a Strong Finish Kick in the Half Sally Chang completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 2:12:14. This was slower than her 2025 result of 2:07:30, when she ran at a 9:44 min/mile pace compared to this year's 10:05 min/mile. Chang's race showed a fast opening, with the first two miles clocked at 9:02 min/mile, before pace gradually eased through the middle miles. Miles 7 through 9 were her toughest stretch, slowing to the 10:0811:19 min/mile range, but she rallied over the final two miles, closing with a 10:04 min/mile split on mile 13 - her strongest finishing mile of the back half. That late steadiness helped her hold form over the closing miles of a course that finishes on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
