Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Fabian Nolke #26653 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Pace Powers a Strong Finish Fabian Nolke ran the half marathon in 1:49:34, an 8:21/mile average. His mile splits stayed tightly banded between 8:03 and 8:40 for the full distance, showing little variation in effort from start to finish. The closing two miles were his strongest sustained stretch, covering miles 12 and 13 in 16:13 an 8:06/mile pace as he picked up the tempo before the finish. That kind of even effort held up well given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, and the race closed with the traditional finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. With no major fade or spike across 13 miles, Fabian might consider a slightly more aggressive early move next time, using the strong closing miles as a gauge of what he had in reserve.
