Fast Start, Steady Finish Through the Middle Miles Zimmerman covered the half marathon in 3:52:25. She opened with her quickest mile of the race, 14:57, then settled into a gradually slowing rhythm through the middle miles, dipping into the 1820 minute range by mile 8. A brief rally at miles 6-7 gave way to her toughest stretch near mile 11, before she closed with a strong final mile, cutting her pace back to 17:26 to reach the Pearl Street Mall. Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, a backdrop worth noting given her steady effort across the second half. Her split through mile 9 and into mile 10 came right around the course's lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, a fitting boost point before the late-race slowdown and her strong closing mile into downtown Boulder.
