Fast Start Gives Way to a Determined Closing Push Fernanda Muniz finished the half marathon in 2:17:29, an overall pace of 10:29 per mile. She opened briskly, covering the first four miles in 38:53 a 9:43 average, the strongest sustained stretch of her race. From there, her mile splits steadily lengthened, passing 10:00 by mile 8 and 11:00 by mile 10, before a sharp dip to 12:47 in mile 11. She responded well over the closing miles, tightening back to 11:01 and 10:47 to reach the Pearl Street Mall finish. That late slowdown around miles 9 and 10 came near the course's lululemon Power-Up Zone at roughly mile 9.5, just before she found her rhythm again to close out the race in downtown Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet of elevation.
