Steady Build Fuels a Strong Finish David Kalis completed the Half Marathon in 1:44:17, averaging 7:57 per mile and placing 504th overall and 392nd among men out of the field of 7,223. After an opening mile at 9:00, Kalis steadily trimmed his pace, settling into the low-8:00s through the middle miles before surging in the closing stretch.
