Strong Start Fades Down the Stretch Oscar Sarabia finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:50:28, a step back from his 1:41:38 performance in the 2025 edition. His race unfolded in two distinct phases: a swift opening through six miles, covered in 46:36 (7:46 pace), followed by a gradual slowdown across the back half that stretched his overall pace to 8:25 per mile by the finish. The first six miles stood out as his best sustained running of the day, with per-mile splits dipping as low as 7:26. That effort came near the lululemon Power-Up Zone, positioned around mile 9.5 of the half, right where his pace eased into the 9:11 range. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the early pace made for a well-managed foundation, even as the later miles cost him time relative to last year's result.
