Strong Early Pace Anchors a Steady Half Marathon Finish Paige Awtrey completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 3:48:55. Her opening mile came in at 13:05, the fastest mile of her race, and she carried strong early momentum through mile 3, reaching that point in 42:07. From there, her per-mile pace gradually settled, with miles 4 through 9 each landing in the 17-to-20-minute range as the race progressed. The closing miles held steady, with mile 12 to mile 13 covered in 18:29, showing a controlled effort through the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. The first three miles stood out as her strongest stretch, with a combined pace well ahead of the rest of the race. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, that early pace reflects a solid foundation before the middle miles leveled off. Awtrey may find that distributing effort more evenly from the start could help sustain that early rhythm deeper into future races.
