Strong Early Pace Fades Over Back Half of Half Marathon Nathan Duran completed the Half Marathon at the 2026 Boulderthon in 2:49:40, averaging 12:57 per mile across the 13.1-mile course. Duran's opening six miles were his most consistent stretch, holding between 10:53 and 11:35 per mile and settling in around an 11:00 pace through the 10K mark. From there, his per-mile splits climbed steadily, reaching the 13-14 minute range through miles 7-10, before a difficult 18:23 split at mile 11. He rallied over the final two miles, closing with a 13:28 split to the finish. Racing at over 5,000 feet of elevation, Duran's early miles showed the pacing control worth building on for future half marathons in Boulder.
