Steady Pace, Strong Finish Through the Backroads Emily Peterson completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 2:12:04, averaging 10:04 per mile. She opened with a swift first mile at 9:41 and settled into a rhythm in the 9:30s through mile 6, then held steady in the 10:00s-10:40s range across the middle miles. Her final mile stood out as a strong closer: after ticking off mile 12 in 9:31, she carried that strength into the last stretch, finishing well among the field of 7,223. That final mile push reflects well on her pacing discipline, especially with Boulder's elevation over 5,000 feet adding to the demands of the back-road miles out past the reservoir before the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. A touch more consistency in the middle-mile miles could help smooth out the overall pace next time.
