Strong Start Fades Before a Late Rally Sarah Furia finished the half marathon in 3:05:32. She opened with her fastest mile of the race, 11:27, then settled into a 12- to 14-minute pace through the middle miles. A rough patch surfaced at mile 11, where her split slowed to 18:58, before she rallied over the final two miles, closing in 15:18 and 13:00. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, her early pace held firm before the mid-race dip. Her ninth mile, passing near the lululemon Power-Up Zone at roughly mile 9.5, came in at 15:10 one of her slower stretches making the recovery in the closing miles a solid finish to build on.
