Her pacing stayed remarkably consistent through the middle miles, hovering between 10:20 and 11:04 per mile from mile 2 through mile 10. She then found another gear in the closing stretch, running mile 12 in 9:27 and mile 13 in 9:15 the two fastest miles of her race to bring her overall pace down through the finish. That closing surge carried her the final miles toward downtown Boulder, where the course finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall.
