Steady Early Pace Carries Denver Runner Through Boulder's Half Ryan Nelson finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:47:25, an 8:12 min/mile pace across the 13.1-mile course. Nelson's first four miles were his sharpest stretch, clicking off in roughly 7:51 min/mile pace and building a cushion that carried through the middle miles. The pace held near 7:50-8:00 min/mile through mile nine before easing slightly over the closing miles, settling into the 8:20-8:35 min/mile range as he worked toward the Pearl Street Mall finish. That early rhythm proved the difference-making segment of his race, and with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, the consistency he showed through the first third stands out.
