Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Gabriel Martinez #26284 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Strong Finishing Kick Propels Denver Runner Into Boulderthons Top Tier Gabriel Martinez ran 1:37:20 at the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon, finishing 278th overall and 227th among men in a field of 7,223. His race built steadily: after opening in the 7:40s, he tightened into the 7:20s-7:30s through the middle miles, then surged over the final two, dropping to 7:05 and 6:39 to close. That closing stretch from mile 11 to 13 was the fastest sustained running of his day, a strong sign of pacing control after ten miles at a steady clip. Running at Boulders altitude of over 5,000 feet, Martinez's ability to accelerate late rather than fade reflects well-managed effort across the second half of the course before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
