Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Brandon Messerly #27970 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Fast Start Fuels Top 1% Finish in the Field Brandon Messerly crossed the line in 1:24:07, good for 69th overall and 59th among men out of the field of 7,223. He shot off with the fastest mile of his race, a 5:58 opener, then settled into a steady 6:056:33 rhythm through mile eight before a rougher ninth mile (7:12) briefly slowed his pace. He rallied over the closing miles, holding 6:206:44 splits to the finish. Boulder's 5,000-plus feet of elevation makes that opening mile especially notable few in the field matched it out of the gate. The final miles into the Pearl Street Mall showed strong composure after the mid-race dip, a pattern worth building on with an eye toward smoothing that middle stretch next time out.
