Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Jason Padilla Morales #23544 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Pace Build Ends in a Strong Closing Kick Jason Padilla Morales completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:46:47, averaging 8:09 per mile. His cumulative pace held remarkably steady through the middle miles, hovering between 8:17 and 8:29 from mile 3 to mile 10, before he found another gear late. Miles 12 and 13 were his fastest of the race, clocking 7:27 and 7:26, pulling his overall pace down and capping the effort with the strongest sustained mile-plus stretch of the day. The finish came on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close to a race run at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Padilla Morales's late surge through the final two miles suggests strong reserves worth considering a slightly more even negative split next time, easing off the early miles just enough to carry that closing speed even further.
