Steady Miles, Strong Finish in Boulder Grant Guenther completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 2:20:04, holding a remarkably even pace through the first eleven miles before finding another gear at the close. Guenther's cumulative pace hovered between 10:26 and 10:52 min/mile for the bulk of the race, a tight, controlled band across rolling terrain. The final two miles stood out as his strongest stretch, with mile 12 clocking in at 10:06 and mile 13 dropping to 9:23 his fastest mile of the day. That late surge pulled his overall pace back down to 10:41 min/mile at the finish, capping the race on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder with real momentum. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, that closing kick is a strong signal of well-managed effort. Runners looking to build on this could experiment with carrying a bit more of that late pace into the middle miles.
