Strong Early Pace Fuels Top 10% Finish Juan Convers finished the half marathon in 1:47:20, placing 629th overall and 465th among men both inside the top 10% of the 7,223-entry field. His pace held tight through the middle miles before easing over the closing stretch, a common pattern as elevation and distance accumulate. The opening four miles were his strongest stretch, each split between 7:46 and 8:02, pulling his cumulative pace down to 7:51 min/mile by mile four. From there, mile-by-mile splits gradually lengthened, settling into the 8:308:56 range across miles 10 through 13 as he neared the Pearl Street Mall finish. Given Boulders elevation above 5,000 feet, the early rhythm he built through those first four miles stands out as the highlight of his race.
