Strong Start Fuels a Steady Half-Marathon Effort Emily Betchyk completed the half marathon in 2:27:11, an average pace of 11:14 per mile. She opened fast, covering the first two miles in roughly 9:20 pace, with mile two clocking her quickest mile of the day. From there, her per-mile pace gradually eased through the middle miles, extending toward the 1214 minute range by miles 10 and 11, before tightening again over the final two miles to close out the race. This year's half marathon course, run at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet, was redesigned with net elevation gain cut nearly in half, from 384 to 203 feet useful context for measuring this effort against future editions.
