Steady Effort Carries Young Runner Through the Half Jonathan Graves, 13, of Aurora, CO, finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 3:08:45, placing sixth in the Male 14 & Under division. Graves opened strong, covering the first mile in 10:32, the fastest of his race, and held close to an 11-minute pace through mile two. From there, his mile splits gradually lengthened, settling into the 13-16 minute range through the middle miles as cumulative pace slid from 12:38 at mile five to 14:12 by mile eleven. He closed with a solid 15:04 final mile, tightening his overall pace slightly to finish at 14:24 min/mile a steady, disciplined effort across a route that finishes on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation.
