Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Paul Simms #26185 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Strong Middle Miles, Late-Race Fade Paul Simms finished the half marathon in 2:28:57, averaging 11:22 per mile. He settled into a steady rhythm through the middle of the course before losing ground over the final four miles, which slowed to a 12:29 average pace from mile 10 to the finish. His sharpest running came earlier, with mile five clocked at an even 10:00 pace, the fastest full mile of his race. Racing at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet, he closed on the Pearl Street Mall, the finish line shared by every Boulderthon distance. This year's half marathon course carried nearly 50% less elevation gain than before, down to roughly 203 feet, a gentler backdrop for his effort.
