Fast Start Fuels a Steady Half-Marathon Finish Alex Panaro completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:42:33, an average pace of 7:49 per mile. After an opening mile of 8:55, he surged through miles 2 and 3 in 7:10 and 6:58, the fastest miles of his race, pulling his cumulative pace down to 7:40. From there he settled into a steady rhythm in the 7:25-8:05 range through the middle miles, holding his overall pace between 7:33 and 7:48 the rest of the way. The final mile came in at 7:42, a strong closing effort that nudged his cumulative pace back down after a brief dip near mile 11. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, made his consistent pacing across the back half notable, particularly the strong finishing kick after the course's steady middle stretch.
