Steady Pace Carries Him Through the Back Half Suketu Patel finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:39:41, an average pace of 7:36 per mile. His opening mile came in fastest at 7:21, and he held tight, low-7:00s pacing through mile 6 before a gradual softening settled in across miles 7 through 11, with mile 11 marking his slowest stretch at 8:17. He rallied over the final two miles, closing in 7:18 and 7:29 to finish strong. Patel's race unfolded in the shadow of Boulder's 5,000-plus feet of elevation, a backdrop that makes his sustained mid-7:00 pacing through the opening 10K stand out as the strongest stretch of his race. With his overall shape holding remarkably even from start to finish, he might look to smooth out that mid-race dip in a future outing on this course.
