Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Juliet Akamboe #27247 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Start Gives Way to a Gritty Back Half Juliet Akamboe covered the Boulderthon half marathon in 2:52:50. She opened briskly, clicking off her first mile in 10:32, the fastest mile of her race, then eased pace steadily through the middle miles as fatigue built. The middle-to-late stretch from mile 7 to mile 10 saw her slowest miles, with the mile 10 split reaching 15:01, before she rallied to close with a 13:11 final mile, nearly matching her early rhythm. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds context to that late fade and recovery. Like all half marathon finishers, she closed her race on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting finish after a course that wound past Boulder County backroads.
