Strong Finishing Kick Highlights Steady Half Marathon Effort Carson Hardegger crossed the line in 2:20:34, closing the Half Marathon at 2026 Boulderthon with a pace of 10:43 per mile. His race unfolded in three phases: a brisk opening mile, a strong middle stretch through miles 5-6 near 9:57-9:59 per mile, then a gradual fade through miles 7-12 before he rallied for a fast final mile. That last mile, covered in 8:46, stood out as the quickest full-mile stretch of his race, a strong way to close out the course. Running in Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation, Carson finished on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. With this pacing pattern, working on maintaining mid-race rhythm could help smooth out the overall effort next time.
