Steady Pace Through the Middle, Strong Kick to the Mall Sandra Candelario crossed the half marathon finish in 3:47:06, holding a cumulative pace that eased from 14:43 through the opening mile to the high-16 range by mid-race before settling near 17:20 overall. The middle miles saw the pace drift outward through miles 7-10, but she rallied over the closing stretch, cutting mile 12 down to 16:17 after a tougher mile 11, and closing with a 15:34 final mile one of her fastest of the day. That late surge came after passing through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, and the response in her final two miles reflects strong closing strength. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, that finishing kick stands out as the highlight of her race.
