Steady Pace Carries Him Through the Half Riley Thibodeaux finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:52:23, averaging 8:34 per mile. His opening miles were his sharpest, clicking through miles 3 and 4 in 8:04 each before settling into a consistent 8:20s rhythm through the middle of the course. Mile 11 marked his slowest stretch at 9:43, a dip from the pace he'd held for the first ten miles, before he closed with an 8:40 mile 13 to bring it home. Boulder's elevation, sitting above 5,000 feet, is worth noting as the backdrop for this effort. Thibodeaux's ability to hold pace within a tight band for the majority of the race rarely straying more than 20 seconds per mile from his average until that late stretch reflects a well-managed effort. A touch more reserve for miles 11 and 12 could help him carry his early rhythm all the way to the mall.
