Strong Start Carries Him Into the Top 4% Overall Ryan Swindle finished the half marathon in 1:35:26, placing 231st overall and 188th among men in a field of 7,223. He opened fast, covering the first six miles in roughly 6:49 pace before easing through the middle miles, settling near 7:30-8:10 pace from miles 7 through 11. He closed with a rally, dropping back to 7:26 and 7:40 miles to finish strong. That opening six-mile stretch was the fastest sustained mile of the race, and it built the cushion that carried him through the tougher middle miles. Racing at over 5,000 feet of elevation, Ryan benefited from the 2026 half marathon course redesign, which cut net elevation gain by nearly 50 percent, from 384 to 203 feet a change that likely helped sustain his pace on the return into downtown Boulder.
