Negative-Split Push Delivers a Sub-1:30 Finish Cornelius Healy ran 1:29:31 to place 135th overall and 114th among men in the field of 7,223. That mark builds on his 2024 Boulderthon Marathon, where he covered 26.2 miles at a 7:16 pace; this time out, over the shorter half distance, he averaged 6:50 per mile. His race unfolded as a steady negative split early miles settled near 7:00, then tightened through the middle before dropping into the 6:30s late. His strongest stretch came over the final three miles, covering that ground in roughly 6:37 per mile, the fastest sustained running of his day. That closing surge, at more than 5,000 feet of Boulder elevation, points to well-managed effort distribution. Healy could look at whether an earlier push into the 6:40s might convert some of that late strength into an even faster overall clock next time.
