Steady Pace Anchors a Strong Half Finish Gavin Walsh completed the half marathon in 2:23:33, an overall pace of 10:57 per mile. He opened briskly, covering the first three miles in 31:27 for an average of 10:29 per mile, then settled into a consistent middle stretch through miles six to eight, each split landing between 10:34 and 10:42. The pace loosened slightly through miles nine and eleven, but he answered with a strong closing mile, dropping to an 11:00 split after an 11:40 mile just before it a solid finishing kick to cap the effort. Racing through Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet, Walsh pushed past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5 before making his way to the finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
