Strong Closing Miles Seal a Steady Half Josiah Dunn finished in 1:45:08, averaging 8:01 per mile across the half marathon. He opened briskly, covering his first mile in 7:48, then settled into a consistent middle stretch, holding between 8:05 and 8:19 per mile from mile 5 through mile 11. His final two miles were the fastest sustained stretch of the race, dropping to 7:31 and 7:36 as he pushed toward the finish. That closing surge brought him down the historic Pearl Street Mall with his strongest running of the day, a solid way to cap a race run at altitude in Boulder.
