Strong Start, Steady Finish Under Boulder's Blue Skies Mackenzie Jaeger completed the half marathon in 1:52:10, an 8:33/mile pace. She opened with her quickest miles of the race, covering the first two in 16:00 (8:00/mile pace), before easing into a working pace between 8:16 and 9:07 through the middle miles. She closed well, dropping to 8:11 and 8:16 over the final two miles to finish with authority. Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, a backdrop worth noting given the pace she held from start to finish. Her race also passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5 before the field turned toward the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close in a city named the Happiest in America.
