Teen Phenom Holds Off the Field for a Division Win Juliet Siapin crossed in 1:40:11, good for 367th overall and 75th among women in a field of 7,223 - and first in the female 14-and-under division. Her race opened fast, with the first six miles clicking off between 7:15 and 7:26, then eased through the middle miles before a tougher patch bumped her to an 8:26 mile 11. She answered with a strong close, dropping a 7:22 final mile to match her opening pace. That first-six-mile stretch, averaging roughly 7:22 per mile, stands as the fastest sustained running of her day. Finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet, she can build confidence from how well she handled the opening miles and closed the race - a smoother middle stretch could bring the whole effort even closer together next time.
