Strong Start Fuels a Steady Half-Marathon Finish Logan Mccormick covered the half marathon in 1:49:33, an 8:21/mile pace, finishing among a field of 7,223 in Firestone's age bracket. His race opened fast, with miles 1-2 clicking off in 7:57 and 7:49 the quickest sustained stretch of his day, holding elapsed pace near 7:52. From there, the pace settled into the low 8:00s through mile 7 before drifting into the 8:30-9:02 range across miles 8-11, his slowest patch of the race. He rallied over the final two miles, closing in 8:40 and 8:12 to bring it home. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds context to that late push through miles 8-11, right as runners approached the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5 of the half course.
