Strong Start Fades Into a Gritty Finish Eric Gurewitch covered the half marathon in 1:50:44, an 8:27 average mile pace. His fastest miles came early miles 1 through 5 all fell between 7:56 and 8:08, putting him well ahead of his final overall pace before the back half of the course pulled him toward the high-8:00s and 9:15 by mile 11. Passing through mile 9.5, near where the course's lululemon Power-Up Zone sits for the half marathon, Eric was in the 8:16-8:18 pace range for his elapsed time, still holding close to even effort before the late miles cost him some ground.
