Strong Closing Miles Power a Top-10% Half Marathon Finish Ingrid Nelson finished the Half Marathon in 1:48:40, placing 701st overall and 187th among women out of the field of 7,223. After an opening mile at 8:54, she settled into a steady rhythm through the middle miles, holding between 8:20 and 8:45 per mile. The back half of her race showed real strength: from mile 11 to mile 13, she covered two miles in roughly 7:54 per mile, her fastest sustained stretch of the day, pulling her elapsed pace down from 8:22 to 8:18 by the finish. Nelson's race took her past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, right around where she clocked a 7:58 split, before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation.
