Strong Start, Stronger Finish: A Well-Paced Half Mikey Perea crossed the line in 1:27:01, good for 97th overall and 85th among men in a field of 7,223 at the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon. Perea opened fast, covering the first three miles in 18:24 - a 6:08 pace, his quickest stretch of the day. The middle miles eased into the high-6:00s before mile 7 through mile 10 slowed to a 7:00-7:14 range. He answered with a strong close, dropping back to 6:44 and 6:42 paces over the final two miles to finish just off his early rhythm. That kind of finish, after a demanding midrace stretch, speaks well to his conditioning. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, on a 2026 half marathon course with net elevation gain cut nearly 50 percent, Perea's steady overall pace of 6:38 per mile reflects a well-managed effort from downtown Boulder to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
