Steady Pace Through the First 10K Sets Up a Strong Half Danielle Losos finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:48:41, an 8:17/mile pace, placing 703rd overall and 189th among women in a field of 7,223. Her race opened fast: the first six miles clicked by at roughly 8:02/mile, her strongest sustained stretch of the day, before easing into the high 8:20s-8:40s through the middle miles. She closed with a rebound over the final two miles, dropping back to 8:18 and 8:27 pace to finish strong. That early rhythm carried her out along Boulder County's backroads past the reservoir before the course turned back toward downtown, where she crossed the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Given the effort held near altitude in Boulder, sitting over 5,000 feet, the early miles stand out as the day's foundation. A slightly more even split between the front and back halves could offer an even smoother finish next time.
