Steady Early Miles Power a Determined Half Marathon Finish Katya Jassem completed the half marathon in 2:45:12, averaging 12:36 per mile. Her race started strong, with the opening five miles clicking off in 56:10 an 11:14 per-mile pace that stood as the fastest sustained stretch of her day. From there, the pace eased through the middle miles before Jassem found another gear in the final two miles, covering mile 12 in 13:58 and mile 13 in 13:15, a solid closing kick to bring the race home. Jassem's steady first-five-mile push came at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet, a notable backdrop for that opening pace. She closed out her race on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, capping off a well-paced effort through the finish.
