Fourteen Minutes Faster: A Big Half-Marathon Breakthrough Alexis Tumolo ran 1:50:24 in the half marathon, finishing 801st overall and 228th among women. That's a sharp improvement over her 2023 Boulderthon half, where she posted 2:04:33 a gain of more than 14 minutes this time out. Her race opened strong, with the first six miles clicking off between 7:58 and 8:17 per mile, the fastest sustained stretch of her day. Miles 7 through 10 slowed into the high 8:00s and one 9:00 split, before she rallied over the closing three miles, dropping back to 8:138:18 pace to finish. That closing surge came on a half-marathon course trimmed of nearly half its climbing this year, down to 203 feet of gain, a helpful backdrop for her finishing kick above 5,000 feet of altitude in Boulder.
