Strong Start Fuels Steady Half Marathon Effort Austin Meier finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:46:49, a modest two-minute step back from his 1:44:48 result in the 2025 race. Meier opened briskly, covering the first six miles in 47:10 for a 7:52 average pace, the fastest sustained stretch of his race. The middle miles cooled slightly, dipping to an 8:39 split by mile eight, before he found his footing again through miles nine and ten near 8:04 overall pace. A tougher eleventh mile at 8:51 gave way to a strong closing kick, with his final mile clocking 7:45, the quickest mile of the entire race. That finish came on a 2026 half marathon course reshaped to trim net elevation gain nearly in half, down to 203 feet, a shift Meier's late surge took full advantage of.
