Her pace held tight in the high 7:50s through the middle miles before dropping to 7:25 and then 7:15 over the final two miles, capping the race with her fastest mile of the day and a strong closing kick into the Pearl Street Mall finish. That surge came after passing through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, where her split time held steady near 7:55 before the late acceleration. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the even pacing through the race's midsection made room for that strong finish.
