Strong Finishing Kick Seals a Top-Tier Half Ian Anderson crossed the line in 1:18:19, good for 31st overall and 28th among men in a field of 7,223. His pacing held remarkably steady through the first ten miles, hovering in the 5:486:16 per-mile range, before he found another gear late. Mile 12 was his standout stretch, clocked at 5:31, the fastest mile of his race, as he closed with a strong final push into downtown Boulder. That closing surge carried him onto the Pearl Street Mall for the finish, a fitting cap to a well-paced effort at over 5,000 feet of elevation. With his rhythm so consistent through the middle miles, Ian might consider experimenting with an even earlier surge in future races to see how much time that late speed could add if unlocked sooner.
