Steady Pacing Powers Strong Half Marathon Finish Julian Claudio finished the half marathon in 1:37:37, placing 284th overall and 231st among men out of the field of 7,223. His mile splits stayed remarkably tight throughout, mostly in the 7:157:40 range, reflecting a well-controlled effort from start to finish. Mile 5 stood out as his fastest of the race at 7:08, a brief surge before settling back into rhythm. Elapsed pace held between 7:22 and 7:29 min/mile for nearly the entire distance, showing strong control over 13.1 miles. He crossed the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a strong result at over 5,000 feet of elevation. With such consistent pacing already dialed in, a slightly stronger closing mile could be a worthwhile target for future races.
